Chetan Parkyn has been reading for people for nearly 30 years. Born in England, Chetan initially obtained a mechanical engineering degree and apprenticeship and traveled the world troubleshooting various engineering projects. An entrepreneur’s son by upbringing and an engineer by training, Chetan has fully explored both the mystical and the technological worlds. Among other things, he’s been a deep-sea dive engineer and a devoted student of meditation. He traveled extensively through the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa in the late 1970’s. Travels in India and studies with the enlightened mystic, Osho, finally opened Chetan to his own gifts — helping people develop self-knowledge.

 

In 1979 in India, Chetan was guided by a savant to notice his own intuitive skills, and was encouraged to practice for a system that would be revealed to him. He started studying esoteric systems and became adept at reading hands (palmistry) and tarot cards. He also studied the IChing, Astrology and other systems in depth.

In 1993, he was one of the first people in the USA to be introduced to the Human Design System, a system that was first discovered in 1987. He has spent the past 18 years mastering and teaching Human Design. As the author of the first major book on the subject, he has made it his mission to bring Human Design to the whole planet. To date he has read for thousands of people worldwide and given classes to many hundreds of others.

 

In 2009 Harper Collins UK published Chetan’s book : Human Design : Discover the Person You Were Born to Be. Combined with powerful free software, this makes it easy for everyone to learn about this remarkable new system. New World Library, USA published an American version, and presently there are Japanese, Chinese, Turkish and Greek language versions too. Thanks to Chetan Parkyn, Human Design is now becoming available to the whole planet.

This week my guest is Matthew Skinta, PhD, ABPP co-author of Mindfulness & Acceptance for Gender & Sexual Minorities: A Clinician’s Guide to Fostering Compassion, Connection & Equality Using Contextual Strategies.

 

While this book was written for clinicians, it is a great resource for understanding the challenges that gender and sexual minorities face. It was a great springboard for an illuminating conversation with Matthew.
